Day 116 - Appliances, Carpet, Final Grade

Our carpet is IN and I am OBSESSED!! It just makes everything seem so warm and cozy!!

The final grade is done and we LOVE it! We were not sure how it would end up looking because of the way the house had to be built up, but they did an amazing job!

Our fridge is in and WOW do I love it!! Baron actually chose most of the appliances and I could NOT be happier with how they are turning out!!

Lots still on the agenda for this week. Final touch-ups throughout the house with paint, etc., final cleaning on Wednesday, our blinds are being installed on Thursday, finishing the stone on the exterior Monday/Tuesday, and laying sod on Thursday!! Here's to a busy week with LOTS of stuff accomplished!!

Day 113 - Carpet and Backsplash

The interior is nearing completion!! Our backsplash is in - I absolutely LOVE the herringbone marble!! It is stunning!! 

Our industrial stove was one of my favorite choices! It looks phenomenal in place now :))

The carpet is down, but it isn't cut yet! We love the color (brown and gray) and how it ties everything together so well! I also absolutely LOVE how it warms up the space :)) You guys - I cannot believe that this is going to be our HOME soon!! YAY!!

The timeline is: stone today and Monday; final grade today; sprinkler system on Sunday; sod next week; final cleaning next Wednesday! What a fun couple of days ahead!!!

Day 112 - Getting SO Close!!!

Things are starting to come together, but we still probably will not close on time :( It is looking like the end of next week, instead of the beginning - OR, if the weather doesn't cooperate, it will be the beginning of the following week! I am trying to keep it all in perspective - it is just one week in the whole scheme of things, which is NOTHING!!!

This is our dining room chandelier - I am absolutely OBSESSED with it!!!

I found these mirrors to go on either side of our fireplace - I think they are super unique and I am hoping that I love them when they are hung up!!!

This is our master shower and it is one of my favorite things that I designed for this house!! I love how it all came together with the frameless shower door!!

So the big issue we are running into is that the INTERIOR of our house will be finished, but the exterior will not. As of Wednesday, we still needed a driveway, sidewalk, patio, final grade, sod, sprinkler system, and stone. WHEW - it's a lot!! If I am being honest, it is SUPER hard having a house that is FINISHED on the inside, but not on the outside :( Here's to hoping the weather holds out and they can accomplish some stuff this week!!

On Wednesday, it FINALLY stopped raining and we got our driveway poured!! YAY!!

Our house is built up so much because we made it walk-out, when it really wasn't supposed to be, so they had to do some unique things on the front of our house with our sidewalk and retaining wall. I am hoping it all comes together and looks okay!! 

Day 105 - The beginning of the lighting and plumbing

The lighting has begun - it REALLY makes the house feel like it is close to getting done! YAY!!! 

These are the lights that I chose to put throughout the house when a different type wasn't needed (such as a chandelier or sconce). I REALLY like how they turned out!!

Our pendants over the kitchen are some of my FAVORITES!!!

The powder room bath - I love it! We are going to do some stone on the wall in here, which I think will make it more inviting :)

Our master bath is wonderful!! I love the rustic mirrors and open lighting!

Our master tub - YAY!!! I am so excited to relax in here with a bubble bath and a glass of wine when we move in!!

The boys bathroom is one of my favorites!! I saw an idea that I wanted to do it and it was REALLY fun making it come to life with the shiplap and industrial lights!

Tonight we will hopefully get to see our appliances and some more lighting - I am SOO excited!!

Day 100 - Countertops!

What a fun day at the house!! Our countertops were installed yesterday and WOW do I LOVE them!!! 

This is our master bath - they are quartz with dark gray veining. The tile in that room is dark gray, too, so it should all tie in well together :)

This is the boys bathroom. We also got their shiplap up behind the sinks - so it looks REALLY neat in there!!!

OUR KITCHEN!! YAY!!! I am obsessed with our waterfall countertops! I went with a quartz for the kitchen and then to add some WOW to it, we decided to do the waterfall panels. I do not think they could have turned out any better! I am in love!!!

We are supposed to close on October 15th, but that seems WAY too soon in my opinion! I am hoping for before November 1st! Fingers crossed!

Day 83-86: Tile and Trim Work

The past couple of days have been finishing up the tile in the house and having our trim carpenter finish up all of his "stuff"! I am SOO impressed with everything that he has done! We are doing a coffered ceiling in the family room - I am SOOO in love! It will be painted white, so it will give nice dimension to the room - I can't wait to see it finished!

This is our master bath shower. I couldn't get a picture of the entire thing - but I am SO IN LOVE with the marble hex tile! It has two shower heads, so the hex runs down from each one. 

The front of the house is DONE - except for the stone! I cannot wait to see it all finished :)

We did lockers in the mudroom again in this house. It is really nice to have a place to put backpacks and stuff for the boys. We will shiplap the wall in between the top and the bench. 

I had them put in a "drop zone" in the mudroom, as well. This is where we will keep our keys, the mail, etc, so that it doesn't get to cluttered in the kitchen. It will be nice to have this stuff right by the door as we go out, as well!

According to our project manager, it will be kind of boring out at the house the next couple of weeks. Only painting will be done - apparently it takes 3 weeks to do that! WOWZA! Our countertops will be installed the 27th of September - then it is just electrical and plumbing fixtures to finish up. Oh...and carpet.....and tile backsplash.....and appliances. (I truly have no idea how this is all going to get done in time!!!) 

Day 72 - 82 LOTS of updates!!

Full disclosure - this is WAY overdue!! I am kind of mad at myself for not keeping up better with blogging about the day to day stuff at house! Now that we are back into the routine of school, I hope that I can be better about it!!

Our hardwood floors were put in - we went with handscraped hardwood and I am SOOO happy with my choice!!! I love them!! This is the only good picture I have of them, though, because they are covered now until we are ready to move in :)

The boys bathroom tile turned out absolutely perfect! I love the color combo!!

Our cabinets were installed in the house last week and I am in LOVE!! They make the kitchen feel so big and spacious!! I am super happy with the choice to go to the ceiling :)

So, I went kind of crazy at Pier 1 and bought a new kitchen table, chairs, and counter stools. Our counter stools came last week and I am not sure that I love the color. I put them in a picture next to our countertops -- what do you think?? Will they work??

I am (obviously) loving shiplap right now - along with everyone else in the world! - but I wanted to do it somewhere a little unexpected. SOOO.... ta-da! I chose our basement ceiling!!! Isn't it fun?!? HUGE thanks to my dad and Baron for their hard work on this! I am in LOVE!!

Our tentative closing date is October 15th. Not holding my breath on that, but it is nice to have something to look forward to! This upcoming week will be more work for the trim carpenter (trim, closets, coffered ceiling)...then a few weeks of painting! After that, we have electrical, plumbing, countertop install, and carpet to look forward to! Hoping everything stays on track so that we have a home to move into during October!! YAY!!
