Day 83-86: Tile and Trim Work

The past couple of days have been finishing up the tile in the house and having our trim carpenter finish up all of his "stuff"! I am SOO impressed with everything that he has done! We are doing a coffered ceiling in the family room - I am SOOO in love! It will be painted white, so it will give nice dimension to the room - I can't wait to see it finished!

This is our master bath shower. I couldn't get a picture of the entire thing - but I am SO IN LOVE with the marble hex tile! It has two shower heads, so the hex runs down from each one. 

The front of the house is DONE - except for the stone! I cannot wait to see it all finished :)

We did lockers in the mudroom again in this house. It is really nice to have a place to put backpacks and stuff for the boys. We will shiplap the wall in between the top and the bench. 

I had them put in a "drop zone" in the mudroom, as well. This is where we will keep our keys, the mail, etc, so that it doesn't get to cluttered in the kitchen. It will be nice to have this stuff right by the door as we go out, as well!

According to our project manager, it will be kind of boring out at the house the next couple of weeks. Only painting will be done - apparently it takes 3 weeks to do that! WOWZA! Our countertops will be installed the 27th of September - then it is just electrical and plumbing fixtures to finish up. Oh...and carpet.....and tile backsplash.....and appliances. (I truly have no idea how this is all going to get done in time!!!) 

Day 72 - 82 LOTS of updates!!

Full disclosure - this is WAY overdue!! I am kind of mad at myself for not keeping up better with blogging about the day to day stuff at house! Now that we are back into the routine of school, I hope that I can be better about it!!

Our hardwood floors were put in - we went with handscraped hardwood and I am SOOO happy with my choice!!! I love them!! This is the only good picture I have of them, though, because they are covered now until we are ready to move in :)

The boys bathroom tile turned out absolutely perfect! I love the color combo!!

Our cabinets were installed in the house last week and I am in LOVE!! They make the kitchen feel so big and spacious!! I am super happy with the choice to go to the ceiling :)

So, I went kind of crazy at Pier 1 and bought a new kitchen table, chairs, and counter stools. Our counter stools came last week and I am not sure that I love the color. I put them in a picture next to our countertops -- what do you think?? Will they work??

I am (obviously) loving shiplap right now - along with everyone else in the world! - but I wanted to do it somewhere a little unexpected. SOOO.... ta-da! I chose our basement ceiling!!! Isn't it fun?!? HUGE thanks to my dad and Baron for their hard work on this! I am in LOVE!!

Our tentative closing date is October 15th. Not holding my breath on that, but it is nice to have something to look forward to! This upcoming week will be more work for the trim carpenter (trim, closets, coffered ceiling)...then a few weeks of painting! After that, we have electrical, plumbing, countertop install, and carpet to look forward to! Hoping everything stays on track so that we have a home to move into during October!! YAY!!

Day 71 - Mudroom Tile and Exterior

The front of our home is finally being started!! YAY!! Our builder told us it is going to take around a week to complete because it is custom siding (I really don't know what it is called), but it takes longer than vinyl to install. Also, our siding guy had his appendix removed a couple of weeks ago, so he is just getting back to work at our house. 

Our mudroom tile has been laid, but not grouted yet. It is a pretty greige color - don't mind the red in it now - that is from the cutting. It is Emser Bristol Concorde - I REALLY like it!!!

I think tile takes a long time to lay! They are also hopefully going to be starting our hardwood flooring soon!! YAY!!! 

Day 70 - Garage Doors and BAR!!!

Things are really moving at the house now!! YAY!! The garage doors were installed today and let me tell you - THAT was a pleasant surprise!!! We thought they were coming after Labor Day - so YAY!!!

Our bar was also installed today! My dad built it and did an AMAZING job! I am in love!!

The fridge will be raised to be level with the countertops after carpet goes in :)

The tile guys were also out there today! I am super excited to see that work start to happen! Everything is finally coming together!! YAY!!

Day 53-68

Lots and lots of house updates!! Sorry for the delay, but the insulation and sheetrock just wasn't that exciting ;)

Okay, so with the sheet rock in, the rooms are finally starting to look like....rooms!! YAY!!! This is the family room.

And kitchen/dining! It is so fun seeing it all come together!

Our actual quartz slabs came in and our fabricator text me these pictures. I am IN LOVE with this color!!! 

These are our paint options that I picked for our bathrooms - the top is the boys bathroom, and guest bath. The dark gray is going to be the color of the shiplap on the boys bathroom wall :)

This will be the color scheme in the master bath :)

We have a front porch AND COLUMNS!! Heck yeah!!! 

This week will be a busy one at the house! They are going to be spraying the ceilings and priming the walls. Then, tile and hardwood is going to start!! YAY for a fun, productive week!! 

Day 50-52

This past week is kind of condensed into one post because well, insulation is boring! Glad that part is over and we have drywall to look forward to this next week!! YAY!!

They also framed out the surround for our master bath, so that was fun to see!

Siding is mostly done in the back and on the sides - just waiting for the LP to come in and the front to get finished!!

We will hopefully be able to make it out there quite a bit this week to watch the progress - it is getting so exciting!!

Day 49 - Siding, Insulation, Window Treatments

What a busy day of home "stuff"! I had an early morning meeting with a Hunter Douglas rep to start looking at window treatments. I decided to go with Roman Shades for the majority of the windows and some more custom treatments for the patio doors. Don't ask me yet what those are going to look like - ha!

I had her hold up the different colors I am getting - it is crazy, but there are literally 100 different shades of "white" - who knew!?!

Then, I went and spent some time at Pier 1. We are needing chairs for our dining room and our counter stools. I decided to do Pierformance Cotton (it's a color) for the dining room in the chair below. It is SO soft and comfortable!! This color (charcoal) will be the color of our counter stools! Unfortunately, everything was on back order - so hopefully more come in soon!!

We went out to the house tonight and we were pleasantly surprised to see quite a bit of progress made!! YAY!! They are siding the sides and back of the house in Mastic Harbor Gray - I really like it because it is a "true" gray to me with not many undertones. That is REALLY hard to find!! The front will be completely different - LP siding - with custom colors. It is going to take a few weeks for it to come in, but it will look SO GOOD when it does!! YAY!!

The insulation is pretty much completed - hopefully the drywall gets up this week and then the mudding and taping can begin!!
